Baptism

Baptism of Children

Please note, a baptism cannot be scheduled until parents have completed the Baptism Preparation Class and the godparent sponsor certificate(s) has been turned into the parish.  Once the class is complete and the sponsor certificate(s) has been turned in, then we can schedule a date for the baptism.  Information on choosing godparents and obtaining sponsor certificates can be found here.

Group Baptisms

Group baptisms of children (ages 0-6) are held on the FIRST Sunday of every month at 1:30pm

Baptism Preparation Class – Second Wednesday of every month from 7:00-8:30pm, Room 1 of the Lower Church Hall

A baptism preparation class for parents of children ages birth through six years is required for first time parents and for those parents who have not attended a previous baptism class at Holy Family or at any other parish in the past five years.  There is a $10.00 fee for the class that can be paid on arrival (check only to “Holy Family Parish”).

To register for this class, contact Raquel Berroteran: berroteran@holyfamilystow.org or (330) 688-6412, ext. 270.

Children who have reached the age of reason (usually 7+) and who are not baptized or who were baptized in another faith tradition are to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).  This formation process is adjusted for children.

For more information on RCIA for children, please contact Katy Ott: ott@holyfamilystow.org or (330) 688-6412, ext. 272.
