About
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a religious formation program for children that incorporates Maria Montessori's principles of education. This program utilizes a "hands on" approach to nurture the spiritual development of young children. Through this format, children not only learn but also experience their faith.
This formation takes place in a classroom setting called an "Atrium", where the items used for learning are child-sized and the children "do work" to understand each lesson. Children encounter Scripture and the liturgy of the Church in surroundings where every object is a "help" to knowing God. Children in the program should attend Mass regularly with their families so they can better understand the lessons and materials used in the classroom.
Classes are held Sunday mornings from 10:15 am-12:15 pm. Children must be age 3-5 by September 30th. To register, please complete the registration form on this page. We know that your children will be excited to discover for themselves how wonderful our God is!

History
The Atrium for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd was dedicated and blessed by Fr. Kevin Klonowski in February 2017. Members of the Catalano family, as well as Clare Kwitowski, were invited to witness the blessing and dedication because of the donations made through Jeanne Catalano and her work. Jeanne was a firm believer in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Jeanne's memory and love of the program live on through the Atrium at Holy Family. Jeanne passed away in 2015.
