Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation
This is the important and exciting year in which your child begins the process of preparing for the special sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. Our parish program includes both classroom preparation and retreats for children. This year we are combining parents' information meetings with the retreats parents are required to attend. Please mark your calendar now with these important dates.
Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation:
- Parents' Meeting/Retreat (Parents only - choose one date):
Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 9:00am - 11:15am OR
Monday, October 4, 2010 from 6:45pm - 9:00pm - Reconciliation Retreat (Children only - choose one session):
Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 9:00am - 11:30am OR 12:30pm - 3:00pm - The sacrament of Reconciliation (Families attend together - choose one date):
Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10:00am
Monday, December 13, 2010 at 7:00pm
Preparation for the Sacrament of First Eucharist:
- Parents' Meeting/Retreat (Parents only - choose one session):
Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 9:00am - 11:15am OR
Monday, January 24, 2011 from 6:45pm - 9:00pm - Jesus Day Retreat (Children only - choose one session):
Saturday, April 2 9:00am - 11:30am OR 12:30pm - 3:00pm - Group First Communion: Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:00am
- Rehearsal: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 5:00pm - 6:30pm
- Individual First Communions (At any mass on the following dates in 2011):
April 30, May 1, 14, 15, 21, 22
Details about each sacrament will be discussed at the Parents' Meetings/Retreats. All parents are expected to attend.
Families with Children Attending Holy Family School
- Children receive religious instruction at HFS and two retreats.
- Parents attend two meetings/retreats.
- Families are encouraged to participate in the TEAM program - an intergenerational formation and education program for all parishioners. If you choose to participate, complete the TEAM portion of the Religious Education Registration Form and return with the fee. (You may write one check for fees.)
- Complete and return sacramental preparation forms with the $40.00 fee. Include a copy of your child's baptismal certificate (if child was not baptized at Holy Family).
Families with Children Attending Public School
- Child attends all PSR Sunday morning classes and two retreats.
- Parents attend two meetings/retreats. Families are encouraged to participate in the TEAM program - an intergenerational formation and education program for all parishioners. If you choose to participate, complete the TEAM portion of the Religious Education Registration Form and return with the fee.
- Complete the PSR portion of the Religious Education Registration Form and the Sacramental Preparation Registration Form with both fees. You may write one check for these fees.
- Include a copy of your child's baptismal certificate (if child was not baptized at Holy Family).

No child will be turned away because of financial difficulties. Please contact Diane with any concerns and arrangements will be made for your child to attend. We are ONE HOLY FAMILY.
